Holy Cross Bids Farewell to Fr. Bart, Honors Graduates, Treats Fathers

Staying connected, virtually

Despite COVID-19, we have had a few busy days at Holy Cross – virtually.

While we have not been able to meet, worship and celebrate in person and ‘give a proper hug’ – as Fr. Bart said in his farewell message to the parish this weekend – we have been able to participate virtually in important moments in the life of our parish. This is thanks to the efforts of our videography team who made the events accessible to all of us via our Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as many others involved in planning events.

In addition to livestreaming our 10 AM Mass to Facebook, the team has enabled Holy Cross parishioners to participate in the following parish events, via both Facebook and YouTube.

Farewell to Fr. Bart, Welcome to Fr. Daniel

Last Thursday, we had a drive-by farewell for Fr. Bart, who leaves June 16 for his new assignment as Guardian Superior of Immaculate Heart of Mary Friary in Baltimore, Maryland. You can view Fr. Bart’s farewell message and clips from the drive-by event in this video. View Fr. Bart’s last Holy Cross Mass and listen to his homily here.

Fr. Daniel Pol, OFM Conv., also from the Our Lady of the Angels Province, the same province as Fr. Bart, arrives at Holy Cross on June 17 to begin in his role as administrator. We will introduce Fr. Daniel after he has had a chance to settle in.

Father's Day Treat

This Saturday, we are holding another drive-by event, this one for our fathers.

Make sure you register by the end of the day, June 16, to reserve a special apple-featured treat. Then stop by at Holy Cross on Saturday, June 20, 10 AM - 11:30 AM to pick it up. Remember to enter the parking lot via the exit lane and stop by the portico to pick up your Father's Day treat. View details and registration link here
