DAY RETREAT:  Bible Women Speak

THEME:  The Heart of the Cross: A Lenten Retreat
Presenter: Olivia Woodford
Wednesday, April 10 – 9:30 – 3:30 pm

Nourish your faith by joining others in the wooded retreat setting of Avila to contemplate The Passion of Christ through the eyes of the women who bore witness to Jesus’ crucifixion, burial and Resurrection. The retreat features Olivia’s performance of her acclaimed one-woman Passion Play, "The Heart of the Cross." The program includes reflection, prayer, scripture reading, and small group discussion between each vignette. By exploring the women who witnessed the Passion, discover how their devotion and love inspires and deepens your faith and relationship with Christ. View details and register at the Avila Retreat Center website.

For men: IGNATIAN RETREAT

May 17-19, 2019
Avila Retreat Center, Durham, NC

This 12th silent men’s retreat, directed by Fr. Christopher J. Ryan, S.J., Associate Pastor, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish in Raleigh, is jointly sponsored by St. Luke’s and St. Raphael’s Knights of Columbus Councils, with St. Raphael’s Office of Life Long Faith Formation. This experience in solitude and prayer opens us to God’s plan for us and those entrusted to us.

The retreat starts around 5 PM Friday and end at around noon on Sunday. Retreat director Father Chris will lead, explain and draw on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Mass is scheduled for Sunday. View details and register at the Avila Retreat Center website.
