Moving from Lent to Holy Week

Our Liturgical Schedule for this week

This Sunday marks the shift in our focus from Lent to Palm Sunday, followed by the Triduum services and then the joy of Easter Sunday.

This Sunday’s readings are, as the author in this week’s blog post on Catholic Exchange writes, “the longest Gospel narrative of the entire liturgical year.” In her commentary, she highlights a few points that that may help us all stay focused. Of course, we also can trust that Fr. Andy will bring it all into perspective and help us prepare for Holy Week.

Looking ahead to Holy Week, you also may find the text and videos at this site useful in refreshing or gaining a deeper understanding of significance of Holy Week. The pages include a few little quizzes to get you thinking.

Following is Holy Cross’s schedule of Holy Week liturgies. The various liturgical ministers have received their schedule for this very important week. If need arises, please arrange for a substitute as soon as possible.

  • Palm Sunday, March 20 | 10 AM Mass (with procession)
  • Chrism Mass, Tuesday, March 22 | 2 PM at St. Michael’s in Cary

The Triduum …
