Mercy Opportunity
Coordinator for Racial Justice and Reconciliation

The role of the Coordinator for Racial Justice and Reconciliation is to coordinate, create, and inform the faithful of opportunities to better understand how racial injustices, in society and in the Church, impact the dignity of all people, and to help the faithful explore how we can find meaningful ways to reconcile ourselves with the past, to bring to light those voices that have been silenced, and to promote equity, peace, and justice to all of God’s creation. The Coordinator may accomplish this mission using many different methods, including but inot limited to:
- Creating resource lists of books and videos
- Providing opportunities for small group discussions
- Inviting speakers to come to the parish, and
- Developing partnerships with other groups inside and outside of the parish, and inside and outside of the Catholic Church.
