Youth Faith Formation provides foundational understanding of the Catholic faith and prepares our children, from kindergarten through high school, to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confession, and Confirmation, and to live in their faith throughout their lives.  

If you are interested in registering your children for faith formation at Holy Cross, please send an email message to our director of religious education at faithformation@holycrossdurham.org.

Are you a 'none'? One of many adults who are not affiliated with organized religion? Or have you been Baptized as a Catholic or in another Christian tradition, but have not received the rest of the Sacraments? Are you interested in learning more about Catholic Christianity or considering joining or returning to full particiation in the Catholic Church?

Holy Cross provides several opportunities to continue your Christian faith journey with deeper prayer, study and action through adult faith formation.

Inquiry: Inquiry is the first step for non-Catholics who are interested in learning more about Catholicism and what it means to be a Catholic Christian. 

It provides opportunities to ask questions and gain insight through readings and discussions with active members of the Catholic Church who volunteer to help with our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program. 

RCIA: Inquiry is the first step in the RCIA program that prepares adults to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist and culminates with receiving the Sacraments at Easter, when they enter into full participation in the life of the Church. It includes reading about what it means to be Catholic, learning about the Sacraments and teachings of the Church, and small group discussions.

Returning Catholics: Our Landings program provides an pathway for those who were Baptized as Catholics but who have been away from the church, and are interested in returning to full participation in the Church.
